Melbourne’s premier club teams up with the world’s premier house music label to deliver a stunning international release. Having originally opened its waterfront doors in December 2001 at Southwarf, Alumbra, became synonymous with delivering quality house.

Fast forward to 2008, Alumbra relocated to the thriving Docklands. Its reincarnation now occupies Central Pier’s historic runway the famous Shed 14 (a 1914 heritage-listed cargo shed) surrounded by water on three sides. Simon Digby and his team have created a decadent penthouse environment, where rustic and raw features are fused with cutting edge materials and state-of-the-art design.

The venue is a weekly house-lover’s haunt and it has recently hosted Dennis Ferrer, Simon Dunmore, Karizma and Miguel Migs. Alumbra is truly valued by its loyal regulars, yet on bigger party nights, Alumbra shines like no other. Little extras such as valet parking, additional décor and marina access make Alumbra a sought after clubbing destination.

Alumbra In The House, has carefully been hand crafted by local resident DJ Jorj and UK’s Copyright. This a must CD for purveyors of classy grooves as its combines a brilliant mix of upfront tunes and classic Defected anthems.

Copyright need no introduction. UK’s house music duo have captivated and inspired the respect of audiences around the world. Recent releases of ‘Bring Me Love’ and ‘I Pray’, that have attracted major support and respect from DJ’s worldwide. Following this notoriety and the fact that they were being noticed by the international community, they were contacted by Simon Dunmore (the Defected Records head honcho) to be invited to mix the Miami In the House '07 compilation.

The duo now return to add their magic touch to Alumbra In The House. Providing a stunning upfront mix, Copyright drop exclusives taken from their forthcoming album, (‘Wizeman’, ‘Shake Sh*t Up’) with hot new releases from Kings of Tomorrow, Quentin Harris, Osunlade and DJ Gregory.

DJ Jorj is one of Australia’s most respected and revered DJ's. He has built a reputation based on dynamic session sets in local and international clubs, events and festivals of high repute over the past 17 years. As a DJ, Jorj incorporates Disco, Nu Jazz, Future Soul and Latin/Afro abstract excursions mixed seamlessly with gritty house and garage.

While no stranger to production Jorj has worked alongside house music greats Blaze, Joeski, Danny Krivit and Knee Deep. On his disc DJ Jorj blends a mixture of classic Defected releases handpicked by the Alumbra faithful (Guitarra G, Sunday Shoutin’, Swimming Places and of course ‘Love & Happiness’) combined with new cuts and DJ Jorj rarities including his own release ‘Es E Zulu’ and his exclusive remix of Dennis Ferrer’s ‘Touched The Sky’.
